August 6th, 2007 (From Tokyo)

Back from Tokyo. Was really wonderful. I need to go back as soon as possible, it’s just so much fun there that I just want to turn Wapanese. Took some photos too.

The Dislocate-symposium was very inspiring, you might want to take a look at the coverage on WMMNA. Buttons was exhibited in a tiny, lovely space and unfortunately the Agfa-button cracked on the second day. Wasn’t that bad since the camera still works, but I suppose that I have to make a button myself for the next exhibition – the 30-year-old plastic seems to be too brittle. I made two new cases and have documented the making to some extent, for anyone who might be interested.

July 12th, 2007 (Buttons in Tokyo)

Buttons has been invited to Tokyo by the brilliant folks at Dislocate – needless to say that I will accompany it. There will be an exhibition at Ginza Art Laboratory (opening on July 24th) and a symposium at ZAIM in Yokohama (July 28th and 29th) where I will probably have the chance to present the project.

Great people around as well, and I finally get a chance to have a beer at the famous Jetée-bar! Looking forward like crazy.

June 8th, 2007 (Momentography credited!)

Though the combined effort of Nikolaj Nyholm and Claus Dahl, the person who coined the wonderful term momentography at NEXT has been identified: it’s Jesper Wille! Thanks again Jesper.

May 30th, 2007 (Reboot 9.0)

Off to Denmark to talk about Blinks & Buttons at reboot in Copenhagen, which looks fantastic judging by the list of speakers. I got a dreadfully early slot on Friday as of now, but I’d be most happy to see you there.

May 17th, 2007 (Blogs)

Two very insightful posts about Buttons – one called Seeing more with the blind camera by Nikolaj Nyholm at O’Reilly radar, the other The Connections Our Buttons Make by Wall Street Journal columnist Jeremy Wagstaff.

(Cheers Fiona Romeo for letting Rég and me know about O’Reilly)
